Business Development Manager is a person, who is ultimately accountable for a client's success. Of course, this success should happen while ensuring GetInData's success. We all have a technological background, while the role of Business Development Manager is the most business-like, focused on delivering the highest value based on expert competencies.
Business Development Manager is assigned early in the sales process and his/her responsibility starts with the ownership of placing the winning proposal. Naturally, ownership doesn't mean doing everything as the one-person-army, working in a team is crucial here. But the Business Development Manager should challenge our estimations and should ask questions to make sure we are aware of the Client's challenge and that our proposal is the winning one.
During the project delivery phase (after signing the contract), a good Business Development Manager monitors the project status and progress. Monitoring doesn't mean being present on every DSM (daily scrum meeting). But it means that he or she attends sprint planning/demo sessions.
Identifying and active acquisitions of new customers
Analyzing the market and assessing the different sales channels

Business Development Manager is quite often the one who picks up the ball and makes the team follow
Should be able to make decisions on his/her own, while acting as the key GetInData representative in talks with the key project stakeholders
A technical degree is not required, but experience in IT projects is a must
2+ years experience in sales activities
3+ years experience in leading project delivery teams
3+ years experience in the IT industry, ideally acting as the service provider
A proven track record in delivering value as the project/contract leader
Good communication skills
Solid analytical and conceptual skills
Ability to adapt to quickly-changing environments
Ability to transform business requirements into technical specifications
Basic understanding of topics like project revenue, costs, overheads, margin, project markup, project profit
